Activities in Cabanas
Cabanas is ideally situated for a wide range of leisure pursuits, varying from the more energetic to the more gentle and relaxing.
There are facilities to suit all ages.
Golf
Several golf courses are within easy reach of the apartment. Benamor is only 5 minutes away. Quinta da Ria and Quinta de Cima are about 10 minutes away. A little further is Monte Rei, arguably the finest course on the Algarve – a Jack Nicklaus signature course opened in 2007.
Two other courses about 30 minutes away are Quinta do Vale (designed by Seve Ballesteros) and Castro Marim.
Other courses in Central Algarve, such as Vilamoura, Quinto do Lago, & Salgados can easily be reached in less than an hour.
Sailing
Near to the apartment complex, there is a slipway for launching your own craft or about 5 minutes away.
Kite-surfing
There is a local kite-surfing school offering lessons and/or complete courses. Equipment is available for hire.
Cycling
Bicycles can be hired locally – an ideal way to explore the area.
Walking
There are coastal footpaths eastwards and westwards from Cabanas, as well as long stretches of beautiful sandy beaches.
Ideal for the keen walker or for those who simply enjoy a gentle stroll.
Fishing
Sea fishing is possible from the shore or the marina. Fishing tackle can be purchased or hired locally and fishing trips by boat are also available from the waterfront.
For the Nature Lover
Cabanas is within the Ria Formosa Natural Park which stretches along the coast from Faro in the west to Manta Rota in the east.
The apartment complex is close to a bird sanctuary. There are nature reserves on Tavira Island and at Olhao.
