Supermarkets

There are some well-stocked supermarkets within easy walking distance from the apartment where all the essentials for self-catering or barbecuing can be purchased.

Freshly-baked bread is available at nearby bakery shops and there is a butcher’s shop. Fresh fish, vegetables and fruit are on sale every morning in the small covered market near the apartment.

Boutiques and Artisan Shops

Along the waterfront there are a number of boutique and artisan shops as well as shops selling all you need for a beach holiday. Also bike hire shops and car hire agencies.

Shopping Malls

On the outskirts of Tavira, a short drive away, is the Gran Plaza – a covered shopping mall on two floors (and incorporating a cinema) with a ‘Continente’ hypermarket, and numerous shops offering a variety of clothing, household goods, and technology products. There is a Food Court with indoor and outdoor eating areas, and ample underground and covered parking.

Further away beside Loulé (Jct 14 on the A22 motorway) is ‘Mar Shopping’ a recently constructed out-of-town shopping mall alongside a large Outlet Centre’. There are a variety of eating places catering for all tastes. Primark, and other well-known stores and brands have a presence there, and there is a large Ikea store.
